Remixes can be very entertaining. Not only are they fun to compare with to the original, they're also fun to do. When I do remixes, I try my best to add my own spark and style to the piece. I try to create something that isn't just a repeat of what the artist made. Luckily, it isn't hard to do. I usually focus on something I want to change about the artwork. It may be the mood or the setting. It could be the colors or the characters. Whatever it is, that's what I focus on and the rest works it's way out. There is this wall I pass by every day. On it there are about nine different versions of the same painting, the Mona Lisa, all next to each other in a row. One looks like it came out of a comic book, another seems to be from a horror movie, and still another looks like it came from a black and white movie. All these are elegant in their own way. When I look at remixes, I find it exciting to be able to see someone's personal style on a drawing done by someone else. I've seen remixes not much different than the original and maybe that's what the artist was going for, but more often than not, I can see the distinct style and color differences. What do you think about remixes?
