I am peeking through the curtain Wishing for the show to begin So I can leap before the audience And proclaim I am Avani Iyer and this is What I can be Then I recall that this is a performance And Avani is gone, replaced by a lie Even so, under the makeup, dresses, and grins is me Trembling in red shoes and ruby necklaces, yet still Avani Thank you for reading!
