Like everyone else, I'm still learning. I'm still learning how to use the correct words for directions. I'm still learning how to develop plot in a story. Yeah, I've been writing stories since I was eight, but I'm no genius. I've only recently started writing short screenplays and let me tell you, screenplays are much different than books. In a screenplay, you really have to envision the outcome in your head. You don't have time to drag on about certain things or get caught up in indirectly telling someone's feelings. Your audience won't be reading your screenplay, they'll be watching it. I've really enjoyed screenwriting despite the difficulties. I find it a nice break from my usual writing. It gives me a chance to write as if I'm a member of the audience detailing everything that's happening. I struggle a bit with figuring out the proper structure and when to use "angle on" or "close on" or what the difference between the two are, but it's an exciting struggle. Screenwriting has given me a chance to really focus on learning something new. I'm still learning to write, but in a different way than I'm used to. I really get to explore a totally different side to the craft and enjoy it in an unique way. What are you still learning?
