Hello there! As you've probably noticed, none of my screenplays have been translated into what they were designed for, a video. I would love to see my screenplays made into actual shorts. Maybe in the future I'll try harder to make that dream come true. At this time though, I'm happy with my screenplays just being short stories told in a cool format. I understand that the whole point of a screenplay is to be the basis for a movie. It's just that in many of my scripts, I have magical elements and settings that I do not have the budget for. I also have no experience directing or filming, minus brief experience from a middle school club. I can definitely learn these skills and I probably will try to in the future, but at the moment, there are no plans to turn my screenplays into videos. If you do have the time, money, and the desire to help me, by all means, contact me through this website about filming any of my scripts. You will certainly make my day; even if it doesn't work out in the end. Anyways, thank you for letting me rant. See you in August!

While I haven't been the most active in writing screenplays, when I do write them, I feel very pleased with myself. Screenwriting has slowly become one of my favorite ways to write a story. I feel a certain tug when I create, like the words are being beckoned out of me by a gentle river of thoughts. I've switched over to Amazon Storywriter as the software I use to write my screenplays. If you wish to collaborate with me or share me a screenplay, I suggest using my contact page under "About" to ask. I'm fairly willing to do activities like that, so don't be afraid to reach out a hand. I'm pretty happy with how things are going with screenplay writing and hope to increase the amount I write per year. I might even try getting some of them filmed. See you in March! Thanks for reading.
One of my favorite screenplays to write was "The Waiting Room", a story about these two siblings who were separated through foster care at a young age. I never thought about my inspiration behind much while I was writing it, but besides the fact it was based on a drawing from a Dixit game, the story line is based on my own life. As an adoptee who had a closed international adoption, I've always wondered who my biological family could be. My adoptive family is wonderful and I'm privileged to have them, but that sense of curiosity has never gone away. I know that I probably will never be able to meet by biological family, but I wanted to create a place where long-lost siblings could meet. That was the "Waiting Room". You are free to interpret the "Waiting Room" any way you want, but in my mind, I see it as a place for people who were separated to meet each other and get over that loss they've been trying to overcome their whole lives. The main characters, Josh and Melanie, explain that they were drawn to this place, explaining the search for understanding of that emptiness. Well, I hope you enjoyed as much as I did! If you haven't read it, check it out on Wattpad or AmazonScreenwriter. See you next time!
In my story "Gears", a girl's heart is pushed by a snake. The girl, Gabriella, is coming in terms with the fact she is moving to Buchtton. I see the story as one about emotions. We all struggle with them and we can't always be happy. Sometimes it's better to be another feeling. Happiness can't really be forced either. That's what the snake was trying to do, make Gabriella happy. I wanted a snake to be the gear turner because often times snakes are seen as evil creatures of the deep. While snakes can be dangerous, there are ways be safe around them. I also thought it would be interesting to have a character that hadn't even met Gabriella, try so hard to make her happy. Gabriella doesn't even realize the efforts of the snake. In the end, it's Gabriella opening up to her mother that gets her heart working again. The snake sees the gears turning again and is happy. He isn't upset that he wasn't the one that made Gabriella's heart working. Instead, he's genuinely pleased. In this way, this is when we truly see that the snake has Gabriella's best interests at heart, by his selfless happiness. Thanks for reading. What are your thoughts on "Gears"?
I'll admit, I never had read a screenplay before Fantastic Beasts. I've always known they've existed and I've definitely seen the results of them, but I had never engaged with one before. After Fantastic Beasts I was taken away by this form of storytelling and eager to try it out myself. For Christmas, I wrote four short screenplays for different family members. I'm sure I made mistakes with the format and could've left out a few words, but I was pretty excited about what I had done. I had no plans to film them ever, but in my mind, I could envision them so nicely. You're probably wondering what was the point of me writing a screenplay if I didn't intend to film it and that's a very good point, but for me, it was so interesting just trying out a new style of writing and enjoying it. Maybe someday I'll find some people who are willing to help me with the film part, but for now, you can find them on Celtx and Wattpad. I'm definitely new to screenwriting, but I'm staying.
Like everyone else, I'm still learning. I'm still learning how to use the correct words for directions. I'm still learning how to develop plot in a story. Yeah, I've been writing stories since I was eight, but I'm no genius. I've only recently started writing short screenplays and let me tell you, screenplays are much different than books. In a screenplay, you really have to envision the outcome in your head. You don't have time to drag on about certain things or get caught up in indirectly telling someone's feelings. Your audience won't be reading your screenplay, they'll be watching it. I've really enjoyed screenwriting despite the difficulties. I find it a nice break from my usual writing. It gives me a chance to write as if I'm a member of the audience detailing everything that's happening. I struggle a bit with figuring out the proper structure and when to use "angle on" or "close on" or what the difference between the two are, but it's an exciting struggle. Screenwriting has given me a chance to really focus on learning something new. I'm still learning to write, but in a different way than I'm used to. I really get to explore a totally different side to the craft and enjoy it in an unique way. What are you still learning?
